Who am I?

I’m Alexa Hart Kumbier, creator of this blog/site. My husband Eric and I are certified teachers who teach abroad at international schools and travel during our breaks. I am restarting this blog for people who’d like to receive updates about us. We’ve gotten a lot of questions over the years, so this site is my attempt to answer them. All previous posts (some great ones from Korea and some other cringe-worthy ones) are still hosted on this site, but they are hidden from public view. Only I can see them for now.

A little more backstory: Before I met Eric, I lived briefly in South America, which changed everything. You can find my South American travel blog from 2009 here. A few years ago, I created an interview-based web show called Atlas Sliced about living and working abroad. I’m no longer doing it anymore, but it was fun. If you’d like to know a little bit more about my educational and professional background, visit http://alexahart.com. It has my bio and professional information, which is more finessed. My info on there is not always 100% updated, but when we start our next job search, it’ll get more love and attention.

To receive an email notification every time I publish a new post, you can click on the “RSS – Posts” link on the front page of this website.

At Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Nepal during an 8-day trek for a winter break. Made it with no altitude sickness! Approximate elevation: 4130 meters, or over 13,500 feet
